At the request of South Korea, Valve pulled a mod from Steam that glorified the country's military dictatorship

Valve has clarified that the so-called “Gwangju Running Man” mod for Mount and Blade: Warband wasn’t nuked worldwide. They only blocked its distribution in South Korea after the government flagged it for violating local law—and the mod’s creator quietly yanked it from Steam in June, which led many to believe Valve had banned it everywhere.

This odd little mod recast the 1980 Gwangju Uprising in a modern-day, right-wing revisionist light. Valve’s limited takedown actually fits with its past moderation choices, and the update straightens out the misconception of a global ban.
