Destiny 2 expansion Edge of Fate is the worst performing expansion in the MMO's history as players still fail to join the game.

Destiny 2’s latest expansion, Edge of Fate, turned out to be Bungie’s weakest launch ever—peaking at just under 100,000 Steam players compared to the 300K+ rush for last year’s Final Shape. Sure, it’s doing fine on the sales charts, but it’s not dragging old Guardians back or convincing new recruits to stick around.

The real problem? None of the big issues are fixed. Years of content cuts and a brutal onboarding curve still make the free-to-play MMO a tough sell, so unless Bungie patches up the core experience, player counts will probably keep sliding.
