Dune: Awakening is changing its endgame in response to player complaints

Dune: Awakening is changing its endgame in response to player complaints: 'Our goal is not to force PvE players to interact with a PvP system that they may have no interest in' | PC Gamer

Some areas of the deep desert will be changed to PvE zones, so players can explore them without worrying about being pulled into fights they don't want.

TL;DR: After last week’s AMA blow-up over Dune: Awakening’s harsh PvP endgame, Funcom’s creative director Joel Bylos has announced that parts of the Deep Desert will now be flagged as “partial warfare (PvE) areas.” In other words, if you’re a PvE purist who just wants to soak in the sand and sun without getting ganked, you’ll still get full access to endgame content—no forced duels required.

Funcom isn’t tossing out its core PvP vision (those ornithopter shenanigans remain), but it is keen to make sure players who “may have no interest” in combat can still see what the Deep Desert has to offer. Consider it a peace treaty for the sandbox.
