EA Shutting Down Four Games Forever in October

EA, aka Electronic Arts, is set to shut down four different games in October across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo devices.

EA is pulling the plug on four titles this October: NHL 21 goes dark on Oct 6, Need for Speed Rivals on Oct 7, Madden NFL 22 on Oct 20 and FIFA 23 on Oct 30. Every platform—PC, PS4/5, Xbox One/Series and Switch—will lose online features, and once the servers shut down, there’s no coming back.

EA hasn’t shared much beyond vague nods to licensing and server costs, so these games are effectively toast. Only Need for Speed Rivals has any real shot at a future remaster, but don’t hold your breath.
