Here’s the lowdown: EA’s pulling the plug on four games this October – NHL 21 goes dark on Oct. 6, Need for Speed Rivals on the 7th, Madden NFL 22 on the 20th and FIFA 23 on the 30th. It’ll affect every platform, from PC and consoles (PS4/5, Xbox One/Series X) to the Switch.
EA hasn’t explained much beyond the usual licensing and server-maintenance spiel. Once these titles lose their servers, online features disappear for good (though NFS Rivals might someday return as a nostalgia-driven re-release). Until then, you can still buy and play them normally.
