GameSpot: Rematch GameSpot Review

Rematch throws out the rulebook and serves up street-style football in bite-sized 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5 matches where flair and quick reflexes beat fancy menus and stat boosts. You play right behind your striker’s shoulder, rock a fresh control scheme (think Rocket League without the cars) and slice passes off walls or pull off Brazilian-style skill moves. Every game is a mix of chaos, couch-level griefers, lag-driven RNG and occasional crashes—but when everything clicks, it’s pure, sweaty magic.

Beyond casual pick-up games, there’s a budding ranked mode, rotating keeper duties (good luck!), and promises of tournaments plus cosmetics down the line. Just don’t get too hyped about the battle pass and microtransactions—Rematch is fun when it’s rough around the edges, but those monetization hooks could leave you kicking yourself.
