IGN: OFF Review

OFF is a cult-classic RPG Maker relic from 2008 that finally gets an almost 1:1 modern remaster on PC and Switch—no more hunting down fan-translation ZIPs. It nails the eerie atmosphere, off-kilter art style and cartoonish humor that blend into a uniquely disturbing horror experience, proving that some things age like fine wine.

Sure, its turn-based combat feels shallow and the structure is pretty barebones by today’s standards, but OFF’s boundary-pushing storytelling and twisted charm still send chills down your spine. You might not fall completely in love with it, but you’d be hard-pressed not to respect its legacy.
