Yooka-Replaylee smooths out the rough edges of its predecessor with tighter camera and character controls, sharper graphics, and no more tedious ability unlocks. It feels much nicer to play, especially if you’ve been craving that classic 3D platformer vibe without the old-school frustrations.
But the overhaul isn’t without drawbacks: the story is oddly disjointed, and Pagie-hunting quickly loses its charm when every level is stuffed with collectibles. Unless you’re drowning in nostalgia for this style of game, there aren’t many fresh reasons to dive back in.
