Nintendo’s cranking up Canadian prices across almost its entire Switch lineup—OLED, standard, Lite—plus games (both digital and physical), accessories, amiibo and Switch Online subscriptions thanks to “market conditions” and US-Canada trade tensions. The only exception? The new Switch 2 console, its add-ons and software all stay at their current tags. Full price details land on the Nintendo Canada store August 1.
This follows a wider console-cost crunch: Microsoft’s already hiked Xbox Series X|S prices and Sony bumped up PS5 costs in several regions. Nintendo even delayed US Switch 2 pre-orders earlier this year after quietly upsizing accessory fees—all part of a global trend of tariffs, inflation and supply-chain headaches.
