Hideki Kamiya has broken his silence on the Bayonetta 3 voice-over kerfuffle, not to rehash the pay-dispute that saw Hellena Taylor swapped out for Jennifer Hale, but to call out the torrent of abuse he copped online. In a new video he reveals how even “famous people” piled in with snarky tweets—then quietly deleted them when the dust settled—labeling that behaviour “coward s***” and demanding honest, public apologies if you’re wrong.
Despite the drama, Bayonetta 3 launched to rave reviews, and Kamiya’s already moved on, exiting PlatinumGames to team up with Capcom on an Okami sequel—leaving the future of our favourite witch firmly in the hands of Nintendo (and maybe a bit of Hale’s magic).
