Ubisoft’s latest financials came in with some mixed bag vibes: Assassin’s Creed Shadows cruised past 5 million unique players “in line with expectations” (no official sales numbers yet, but shout-out to Ubisoft+ subscribers), while the newly relaunched Rainbow Six Siege X hit a snag. CEO Yves Guillemot chalked it up to “technical pricing issues” and a prepaid-card exploit that temporarily inflated in-game wallets—problems that have since been squashed.
Siege X did see a bump in engagement after going free-to-play on June 10 (unlock everything without buying a premium edition), but spending dipped thanks to those hiccups. On the bright side, Ubisoft says player feedback is glowing, and Shadows is gearing up for its first big expansion, Claws of Awaji, later this fall.
