CD Projekt has officially moved Cyberpunk 2 (formerly Project Orion) into pre-production after wrapping up its concept phase. The sequel, led by CDPR’s new North American studios in Boston and Vancouver, follows the phenomenal success of Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion, which has already sold over 10 million copies. Plus, the Ultimate Edition (including Phantom Liberty) lands on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5.
Original creator Mike Pondsmith teases that Night City will return alongside a brand-new locale that “feels like Chicago gone wrong,” and he’s keeping a close eye on the scripts and environment designs. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough good news, CD Projekt also celebrated The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt crossing the 60 million sales mark in its latest financial report.
