Resident Evil Requiem Will Be Playable in Both First and Third-Person at Launch, Capcom Confirms - IGN

Resident Evil: Requiem was finally announced just last week at Summer Game Fest, with a trailer introducing a new protagonist. But what we didn't see in that trailer is a new(ish) feature coming to Resident Evil: Requiem: we'll be able to play the game in either first- or third-person.

TL;DR: At Summer Game Fest Capcom revealed that Resident Evil: Requiem will let you swap between first- and third-person on the fly right from day one—a feature we only got as Village DLC before. A behind-closed-doors demo briefly showed a pause-menu toggle, quieting some fans still shook by RE7’s full-FPS turn.

Gameplay itself feels classic RE: you play new heroine Grace Ashcroft, who busts out of a crumbling hospital armed with a lighter, screwdriver and fuse, all while freaky monsters give chase. No Leon S. Kennedy in sight yet, though whispers (and trailer Easter eggs) hint he might be the true lead—Capcom’s just not spilling the beans…yet.
